During the counseling sessions, the counselor and patient work together to identify and address the issues. The counselor may use a variety of techniques, strategies, and skills to guide the patient to progress in achieving their desired goal. In addition, the counselor and patient work together to develop their after-care plan upon clinical service discharge.
